Quick Content Creation

When building many websites over the past four years, and I've always encouraged my clients to be liberal with the wisdom they give away. It seems a bit counter-intuitive to give away your know-how without expecting anything in return. But, those who have tons of great, updated knowledge on their sites see sizeable changes in the long run. I encourage people to put 30 quality pages up as soon as they possibly can because I know it will gain the notice of the search engines and your visitors.

Libraries Losing Sales Or Gaining Sales?

Libraries are the major source and market for the sales of books. Libraries have a collection of book topics published by various authors and therefore they are regarded as the store house of knowledge. Books on art, literature, politics, history, science etc. can be found in the libraries. A student can get knowledge about how to write an essay, project presentation techniques, information of different subject matter, etc. from the libraries.

3 Steps To Better Sales Copywriting

Whether you're wet-behind-the-ears or a seasoned copywriter, your craft will benefit by remembering one thing:

You're nothing more than a salesperson.

There's an old saying in the "business" that, "a copywriter is a salesperson sitting in front of a typewriter." True, few of us are using typewriters these days. The principal, however, remains unchanged.

We're in sales. I know this. You know this. We all know this. Yet why does much of the copy out there, especially ads produced by expensive agencies, seem to miss the point?

The Recipe For Getting Published

Got talent but no clips? Here's the recipe for getting published…

* Procrastinating
When you've finally decided you have to put into Writing the fabulous idea that just struck, you enter the first phase of the Writing process. "I'll start tomorrow," "I'm not inspired yet" and "I just don't have the time" are some of the phrases that will form a part of your vocabulary. When you've incorporated them into your daily lifestyle, you're ready to enter the second phase.

Our Favorite Words

We enjoy getting to know our clients&'and you know we always like to have a little fun with words. So we've compiled a list of some of our favorite words. Please tell us your favorite word by posting a reply!

Dan: Thusly. Like thus, only cooler.

Frank: Persevere.

Hermine: Friend. I find it a very comforting word.

Joi: Bumptious. An adjective meaning presumptuously, obtusely, and often noisily self-assertive; obtrusive.

Jon: Light.

Kriste: Onomatopoeia. I love the definition (words that sound like what they are, like swoosh, zap, etc.), and the word onomatopoeia just is fun to say; I think so anyway!

PAIRS/GROUPS OF WORDS THAT ARE OFTEN CONFUSED

SALE, SAIL
Sale is either offering something for purchase ("for sale")
or offering it at a special price ("on sale"); sail is part
of a ship or boat.

SELL, CELL
Sell is to exchange for money; cell is a small room.

SCENE, SEEN
Scene is the place where something happens; seen is the past
participle of see.
"Yet he had seen nothing suspicious at the scene of the
accident." (Of course you wouldn't write a sentence like
that; the two words make for a clumsy combination. I would
probably replace "scene" with "site".)

Character Development

How much character development you do really depends on your Writing style. Personally, I do little or no character development. My characters, to varying degrees, are living full-blown in my mind. I may make a few quick notes, but not much more than that. However, most of my Writing is in the short story and novelette areas. I have not worked on a novel, and all of my books have been nonfiction. If I were to write a "War and Peace" beastie, then I'm sure I would do at least a minor outline on all of my characters.

Why Write An Ebook, And What Makes Them So Popular?

Why should you be interested in Writing an eBook? It sounds like a lot of work for very little payoff, right?

According to Business Week, eBook sales are up 59% in 2007 compared to 2006, and these numbers are projected to continue to grow. Planning The Ending To Your Story Is Vital

Should you know exactly how your story ends before you start or leave it to chance? Different writers go about it in different ways. Find out what suits you best.

Readers want a feeling of satisfaction on reaching the end of your story. It should work out 'right', or at least have a sense that justice has been done, even if your hero is the one on the receiving end. To get it right, planning is needed.

Here are four ways to arrive at how your story will end:

1. Just do it.

Copywriting That Sells

The first thing I learnt after Writing my first copy was – it all boils down to how much your copy sells. No matter how good it is, no matter if it beats Hemingway and Dickens in the efficient employment of language, if it does not sell, it is worthless.

Whenever you sit down to work on a new copy or edit an old one, just keep one thing in mind: how you can deliver "the message" in minimum words. Remember that literature written for the sake of promoting a product or a service needs to be succinct and direct, and above all, understandable. The average reader of your literature is a person who is in a hurry. He/she is bombarded with similar messages already (and he/she might be cynical).
